Our Story
Tallawah started the day after Hurricane Melissa, when the images and videos coming out of Jamaica didn’t feel real. Entire communities were underwater, families were displaced, and people were trying to rebuild with almost nothing. Watching all of this happen from abroad felt wrong. It felt too far away, even though it was home.
A few of us, all young Jamaicans and students, started talking about how we could help in a way that felt meaningful. We didn’t want to put out a fundraiser that disappeared after a week. We wanted something people could be proud to wear, something that represented the strength and resilience Jamaicans are known for. Out of those conversations, Tallawah Foundation Corporation was born.
Tallawah is a nonprofit created to support real relief and rebuilding across Jamaica, beginning with the communities affected by Hurricane Melissa. Every piece we release carries the story of a country that refuses to break. And because we wanted Tallawah to actually matter, we made a decision from day one: 100% of profits go toward hurricane relief, community rebuilding, and long-term support initiatives as the foundation grows.
We’re still early in our journey, but the mission is simple. Use what we have, work with what we can, and help Jamaica recover one community at a time.
Thank you for being part of this and for standing tall with us.
